The hallmark of the Italy Pavilion is its Venetian, Florentine, and Roman architecture. Recreations of St. Mark's Campanile, Doge's Palace, and the Neptune Fountain bring this Italian pavilion to life.
Attraction
Similar to the German Pavilion, there were original plans for attractions at the Italy Pavilion that never came to fruition. Their were plans for a gondola dark ride and a Roman ruins walk-through at the rear of the pavilion as part of Epcot's Phase II. The attractions were planned to be where Via Napoli is located.
Entertainment
Sergio the comedic juggler and mime engages guests in an old Italian piazza-style juggling show in the courtyard of the pavilion.
Dining
The Via Napoli Pizzeria e Ristorante features a trio of brick ovens - which are named Vesuvius, Etna, and Stromboli - that make the house specialty Neapolitan pizza. To start the meal, guests can chose from fried risotto balls, pasta and bean soup, and corn-custard calamari with spicy tomato sauce. Some of the more popular entrees are the spinach lasagna, veal parmigiana, and wood-fired pizzas. The tiramisu and chocolate gelato are sure to be the cheery on top of a wonderful meal. A variety of Italian wines, beers, and specialty cocktails are also available.
Tutto Italia Ristorante allows guest to enjoy Old World ambiance on the outside patio or in the roomy dining room with murals of ancient Rome and dazzling chandeliers. The authentic Italian menu was created by award-winning chef and California restaurateur Joachim Splichal.
At Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar, guests can experience the Italian flavors of over 200 bottles of wines. A small-plate menu is also available that features meats, cheeses, panini, pasta, and desserts.
